Nicely done! Loved the photos! And those Fell Tails will one day be remembered
in stories probably called: "The Fell "Fairy Tails".... <G>
This site is on my favorites list!

I love the rainbow picture! I would like to know more about the fells. How
difficult are they to get? I would love one for my daughter while she's waiting
for my Friesian to grow up but they seem even harder than the Friesians to get.
Are they versatile for riding? Doing pony club for example. Are the temperaments
the same as Friesians? Are they as willing to train? Adjust to new situations,
etc? I'm sure these are alot of questions especially with you expecting but I
really would like to learn more. Kristen

Hello folks...very nice webpage! Found your address while reading the Friesian
Horsenet discussion forum. Your Friesians are gorgeous. I also have the honour
of owning a really sweet FHANA registered friesian mare by the name of Pinella.
My dream horse! I have to thank Al and Sandy Detweiler (of Misty Morning
Friesians in MI) for letting me adopt her awhile back. Your Fells are beautiful
also. Yes, they are rare here in North America, aren't they? Nice to see them
not too far from me. Maybe one day I'll visit and bring one home? I live in Ohio
an raise Norwegian Fjord horses. If you'd like to see my farm's page please
do... I am at: http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Atrium/1362/ Please stop by for a
visit! All the Best to you... Ingrid of Full Moon Fjords in NW Ohio :o)

Nice site! Loved reading the history part, but I thought Friesians were
coldbloods. I live in So. California and am the proud owner of two Friesians.
FPS registered. One just made ster mare in Sept. and the other a two year old
filly. Also, the barn picture is beautiful, looks like the perfect place to
house Friesians.

Lovely Fell sight. So nice to know that Fells are beginningto be appreciated in
the States. We live in the Exe Valley in Devon, England and have two Fell
ponies. Blackberry Jack who lost his papers in his previous life to coming to us
but is typical Fell, jet black, long mane and tail, lots of feathers, 13'2 and
Bracken or Brackenbank Hero also jet black with all the usual attributes
including the lovely Fell temperament. Don't see too many Fells here in the
South West of England but they are becoming more popular. Obviously loads to see
in the fells in the Lake District in Cumbria. Godd luck to you! regards Jenny

As a member of FHANA, this evening I found a discussion of FHS/FPZV. Except for
allowing cross-breeding using Approved Stallions, I found the FPZV insistance
upon a mare to undergo a performance test for Star or Model very desirable. I
have attended two FPS Keurings in the US and mares haven't had to undergo a FPZV
type performance test to be granted Star status -- they should.Good luck!!

Great site!! I live on the west coast of Scotland and own a Fell gelding - "Lownthwaite
Gem". His granddam is Lownthwaite Star Trek so in a round about way, he is
related to Lownthwaite Orange Blossom! I think Fells are great fun and as I am a
fairly small adult (5' 3") I can't imagine riding a bigger horse.
Good to see that the Fell population in the US is growing. It's a shame though
that there aren't more British Fell pony sites.
I only know of one and that hasn't been updated since 1997. Perhaps if I ever
gain the expertise, I will create a British site.
Thanks once again for the lovely site.

I am a rider short in stature but not all together petite in build. As a result
in my search for my next horse I have decided that my criterion are a horse that
is also smaller but full bodied with a kind and willing temperment and athletic
ability. The Fjord, Lipizzan and Fresian all are at the top of my list but now
the Fell Pony most definitely become a front runner. Thanks for your wonderful

Best wishes from Germany! I am so glad I found another Fell Pony page and such a
lovely one! At the moment I am creating my own Fell Pony page but it isn't yet
finished (I have to add the pedigrees). It is really funny to see that nearly
all the fells are in a way related to one another. Do you know the stallion
Heltondale Duke? He has been imported to Germany some years ago, and I have been
riding him since 1998. It seems that he has some "sons" in England that have
been quite successful. Anyway have a look at my page and leave a message in the
guestbook. You don't have to write in German. (I have copied two of your photos,
if you don't agree please contact me..but I have also added your link.)Thank you

Hello again, Sorry about the last, I hit the wrong button. I am very excited to
see any information on the fell pony. We have 2 Friesians and love them dearly!
However, you made a valid point about their size. Our gelding is over 16.1 hands
and he isn't even 3 years old. I am only 5'4 and would prefer a shorter
Friesian. Oh, well. We wouldn't give him up for anything. Our weanling filly
shouldn't be quite so big. We want to raise our own. I would love to add a fell
pony to our family. We live in West Point, Utah and I will be contacting your
other website for more information on the fell pony. Thank you so much for
sharing your awesome friends with us. Bonnie McCormick

Hi, I live in Norfolk, England, and help to look after a fell pony, he's great,
even if he is a bit of a sod. My faviroit saying about him is that he puts his
head between his knees and bucks for England! I'm slowly getting rid of this
habit via lots of schooling. I would reccomend a fell pony to anyone, they are
such a good all round pony, I'm 19 and have ridden for about 11 or 12 years,
'Jed' sences this and is always really naughtie with me which gives me an
'interesting' ride, but with children, I trust him completly he's a star. I came
onto the internet to find out more about showing fell ponies, as I will be doing
my first show with him in may, and although I didn't find what I whated your
site has taught me a few things, thank you.

I have been in love with the Friesian breed since the movie Ladyhawk. They move
with such grace and as my poppy used to say black is beautiful. He had driving
ponies hackney cross. I know if he were still alive today a Friesian or a Fell
pony would be in his barn. I hope someday to have one they are too beautiful.
Thanks for the pictures. Laura Cole CT

Hi. I just one picture of A Friesian horse, and I was in love. I already own an
Arabaian and an Anglo-Arab. I was wondering if you sold any colts. Foals will be
fine too, I was just wondering about the males under 3 years of age. Thank you.

I live in Selinsgrove, PA and am an equine artist. I have travelled to horse
shows throughout the state looking for Friesians to photograph and paint. I had
no idea there were any of these beautiful horses so close until I saw your ad in

horses and, with your permission, take photos of them to work from.

Thanx for the great pics.... All thats missing is when your sending me one of
them ( winge whinge )
......That was my daughter Natalie and a brief comment.
Hi I'm Angie. The web site is wonderful. We own and adore a most wonderful pony
named Jerry, (Jellybean). He is part fell, part cob - but in his head he is 100%
fell. He eats to much, talks too much, and has far too much character for his
own good. He touched our hearts (not to mention our bank accounts), and we love
him dearly.
If your fell ponies being 100% true bred are as wonderful, you are blessed.
All the best, Angie & Natz (neigh from JB)

Thanks for doing such a fantastic PR job for the Fells. Its great to know that

Thanks for your response on "the list". I was thrilled to see your beautiful
Fells, and the info you've put up is great! I was surprized to learn they are as
tall as they are (quess I expected closer to 11 or 12 hands.) It also seems that
their heads are finer, perhaps even dished sometimes, compared to the Friesians.
Or do I have the wrong impression?

Your web site was very delightful, I enjoyed learning so much more about the
friesian horse, and I never knew about the Fell ponies until I found and read
about you your wonderful web site. Great job!!! I have been very interested in
owning my own Freisan one day (I currently own a TB, swedish warmblood, and a
miniature stallion). They are the most beautiful and magnificent breed, and are
so versatile. We put on a Musical Freestyle performance with Liberty and tricks
horses, and also do Hunter/Jumper. We would love to have a freisian or fell pony
in our program someday. We travel all over the world to perform. (ex: Equine
Affaire, Equitana)> There is nothing like having a frieisan put a smile on your
face. Good luck and best wishes!!, Danielle, In Ohio

Greetings. Love Friesians, own a Mustang. Have you considered breeding your
champion mare to Jorrik?(I think I've got the spelling right) He's a hot
stallion from Germany living in the Dallas area. He supposedly was accepted for
breeding based on his reputation alone. He's at Proud Meadows. They have a
website but I don't know what it is. Like I said, love the breed, can't afford

since reading an article in a magazine. I have a 7 yr old daughter who is almost

was interested in the fell pony temperment. I have 2 TBs who are way to much for

I have been interested in acquiring Friesians within the next year. I had never
heard of Fells. Great-looking breed! My kids have been concerned about the size
of the Friesians. The Fell's size looks much more manageable for the youngsters.
Is the temperment really as good as the big guys? Thanks for your time.

I have 2 black labs also and yours are beautiful. I am @ a barn in Heber City,

happened, she was 21. I am a beginner rider and really want a Fresian cross to
do dressage on. All Bowie's babys are spoken for so I am shopping. I prefer a
"trained horse" but finances could be a problem. I love their temperment and
willingness to learn. Peggy also have a Fresian/Morgan cross who @ 4 is already
a willing partner for one of her kids. Do you have any horses available? Love

Oki - My name is March and I am of the Blackfeet Nation of Montana. I currently
live in Lawrence, Kansas where I have just finished JD at KU Law School. I
eventually will be returning th Montana. I recently, within the last three years
learned of the Friesian. My mentor in law school introduced me to the breed. She
would love to own one. She is also teaching dressage. I saw a lady in a
competition in Kansas last year and it was the most beautiful dancing with horse
and rider that I have ever seen. My dream is to own one of these wonderful
animals one day.
Your web site is wonder and the pictures are outstanding. I will have to

I'm so glad to find your beautiful site! I have been looking for a Friesian
breeder here in New Jersey and, although I know there was one, I never could
find out where. I began searching the web and found a new, wonderful thing! I
never even heard of Fell Ponies, what amazingly gorgeous creatures! Friesians
are so wonderful that finding a small version is just too good! I am an eqine
artist, and founder of a new group, New Jersey Equine Artists' Association. I
have been looking for a place relatively nearby where we might take some
referance photos and what a lovely activity it wiould be for a few from our
group! I WILL do a painting of a Fell Pony in any case, just to let others know
about them. I will also give your web address to our webmaster to add to our
Links page. Please check us out at njeaa.com and although our page has a long
way to go I think you will enjoy it. You will find a Friesian or two there
(excuse our WM's spelling of Friesian-it may not be corrected yet).

Hi! loved the photos. We own a friesian who we just had bred for a 2001
foal--can't wait!! I didn't relize the fells had friesian blood lines in
them. That explains why they look like mini friesians!!! I found your web site
interesting and learned something about the fell ponies.

Like everyone else, your webpage is on my favorites list! It's truly
outstanding.....I love the family photos of you with your labs....and your
little Lauren...what a sweetie. I have yet to own a friesian...but I can tell
it's in the not-too-distant future. My goals are set! A horse owner for life,
I'm sure my arab mares would appreciate a big, black Fabio in their lives to add
a little excitement!

What a treat to find out more about a magnificant horse in such quality of
details. Thank you. You folks have a lovely webpage and are truly advocates of
your beloved breed. I know little about horses other than their beauty and my
childhood love of them. I am an Artist and teach for the Pittsburgh Center of
the Arts in a South Hill's suburb of Pittsburgh PA. One of my students, who
rides dessage, said, " Rikki, your horses and sculptures look like Freisians".
???????? "What's a Freisain"? and here I came upon your site. Again, what a
treat. We camp in the mountains up your way, perhaps we can stop in sometime and
see these beauties up close and in movement. Oh, by the way, my student was
right, my work does look like these horses :o) Best regards ~ Rikki

What a great site! We have two Fells who are our very best friends and have
enjoyed them for eight years! We live in Dorset on the South coast in England.
It is nice to visit websites in other countries to see how other Fell ponies are
being bred. The best bit on your site is definatley are the pictures of
Waverhead Robbie. He is gorgeous like all Waverhead ponies. Especially as my
pony has a Waverhead pony as a sire (Waverhead Rob). Keep up all your good work
and have fun with all your Fells!

Really enjoyed your web site. Very nice to see your photographs on 'this' page,
complete with doggers! I've been day-dreaming lately about a big, black horse

to see what is around. We have horses, but no Friesians, and both my husband and
I are completely enamored of them. Maris

We live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. I have ridden hunters for pleasure
with the Glenmore Hunt Club. Now all three of my kids are riding also. The farms
that breed ponies when I was a child are all extinct now. Because we have a
couple hundred acres and the kids are in and possible breeding couple of large
hunter type ponies. I am only five feet tall so working with ponies suits mt
frame. I've a dear friend that stands a lovely dapple grey mediun sized welsh
that has produced great show jumpers. I like the conformation of the Fells,
Dales, and Connemaras. I am uncertain that I can afford a Fell if they are so
rare in this country. They look very nice and as though they would make lovely
children's hunters. Dolly Frazier Crusher Run Farm (540) 434-3988

I have been looking at Romeo with a friend,Jenette Buch, for possible breeding
to my TWH mare. I live in a tiny town with a big name, Kleinfeltersville. It is
near Lebanon and Myerstown along Rt 501. We (my husband and I) lived in Tioga
Co. years ago near Liberty. My in-laws still live near there in Ogdensburg. My
husband grew up on a farm there and he thinks he knows your farm by the picture.
Which by the way is awsome. I have visited your site many times recently,
checking and rechecking,as if somehow Romeo has changed! :o) I would like to

My name is Jane Gallagher, I am 15 and I live in Wrrington, England. I have an
unregistered Fell pony named Suzy. She does really well at shows and is always
complimented because of her confirmation and pretty head. She is not very easy
to ride and needs a Kimblewick bit but she is a really good jumper. She does
have a chararcteristic fast trot but her walk is slow and lazy. She either
ignores my aids for her to walk faster or she breaks into trot. Do you know what
I can do to correct the problem?

Hi all you Friesian lovers. I am Mirjam from the Netherlands, home country of
the beautiful Friesian horses. Since two weeks I've been the proud owner of a
friesian colt. I like to hear from people who like Friesians from all over the
world, so send me an email if you like. I am also looking for information about
a stallion called Anne 340. He was sold to the USA last year and he is the
father of my foal. If you know anything about him please let to know. Bye hope
to hear from someone soon. Mirjam

Hi, looking for a sweet, bombproof Friesian for my beginner husband who has been
pleasure riding for five years. Just lost our 23 year old horse whom I had been
with for 22 years. Need another life partner horse to be a part of the
family...we don't seem to ever want to sell our animals. If you know of a
Friesian needing a loving home, not needing to show, but loving attention and
carrots, hopefully under the 10K range, please contact me. Kinga 508-528-8562

in the Halter arena. Please send us more info on your Freisan/Fell farm. Our

WOW!
What a great websit-please could i have one just like this?!
I am also a Fell nut, ownig approximately 44.
I live in Hereford, England. I am soo glad to see that you too own A Waverhead
Black Magic line, they are fab. My chap is called Goytvalley Magic Minstrel-he
too is a supreme champion stallion, but more than that he is the best person to
be around. I have shown him since end of July 2000. To date he has been to 9
shows and he turns heads where ever he goes, we always bring something home with
us, be it a silver trophy or a fist full of rosettes. I am very lucky being a
part of his life and consider myself very privilaged.
I wish you all the very best of LUCK and keep up the excellent work of promoting
this wonderfull breed. I will visit you page often.
Best wishes

Hello, I live in southern British Columiba, Canada. I grew up on a farm in
southern Saskatchewan, Canada. I have always had a love affair with horses. Your
life, to me, is ideal. I do know the hardships of working with animals, but when
you love the creatures, it isn't always WORK. Your site is very nice and
informative and very easy to get around in. Keep up the good work and I hope
your horses keep on with their winning ways!!

I live in south/centeral New Hampshire. I found your web address in the Equine
Jounal and had to check out the Fell Ponies. I first saw and fell in love with
Friesians after seeing the movie "Lady Hawk". Then I had a chance to see them in
person at the annual Equine Expo in Northhampton Mass. I was very surprized to
see how big they are. I think a Fell pony would be more my size as I am only 5'
1".

This is a very cool website. I enjoyed it a lot. I am 13 years old, and was born

When I'm older I would like to own one myself. Every year I go to camp in
Holland, and my whole family lives there too. I think this is a very helpful
website for people who are interested in this horse. Maybe I'll come and visit
your farm some time....maybe, heheheh. I hope so. I live in Connecticut. Hope
other people get as much pleasure out of this website as I did. ~*~Shoana~*~ PS-

Wow thats a beautiful site. You are so blessed to have such a wonderful farm,
and share it with those beautiful horses and dogs.
My big dream is to own a house in the country with my own horses and dogs!! I've
ridden horses since I was three but became allergic to them when I was about 7.
I spoke to a hypnotherapist who says he can cure my allergy - yay! So maybe I
will own my own horse one day. My fave breed has to be the friesan. They are so
appealing and seem to have such a beauty of spirit and gorgeous looks too.
I love your site. ^_^ Your horse Sophia really is stunning, she looks a bit of a
character from the photo! Romeo is gorgeous too. And I was interested in reading
the bit about imprinting the foals as soon as they are born. It seems like a
great idea for getting the horse to bond closely to humans.
Bye for now, best wishes.
Jen

Fantastic website, it did take a long time to load on my computer. (Probably my

drool over your horses and ponies. We currently live in Grantville, PA, which is
near Harrisburg, although I grew up near Dushore in Sullivan County. Now I know
you know how far out that is!! We currently have an AWESOME TB x Welsh Pony,
pulling in lots of ribbons in dressage. MOST unfortunately "Simon" I think is
destined to be outgrown in a couple of years :-(. So we are thinking ahead.
Lovely website and lovely animals!

Your site is like your ponies,a credit to you.Iown and show Highland ponies and
regularly compete against Fells,so I feel qualified to say yours are truly
beautiful, good luck trying to convert the rest of America to Fell ownership.Best
wishes Margaret.
